If an event on your website shows a “Coming Soon” button instead of a Register button, it means that registration has not opened yet.
This typically happens when the Registration Start Date for the event is set to a future date.
How Registration Dates Affect the Front-End
Playbook controls event registration visibility using the Registration Start Date and Registration End Date.
- Before the start date → Event displays Coming Soon
- Between start and end dates → Event displays Register
- After registration is closed → Event shows Registration Closed
How to Open Registration
To allow teams to register immediately:
- Navigate to the Event Listing page.
- Find the event that shows Coming Soon.
- Click the event name to open the Event Details page.
- Stay on the Details tab.
- Scroll down to the Registration section (third box).
- Locate the Start Date field.
- Change the date to a date in the past.
- Click Finish to save the changes.
Once the start date is in the past, registration will open immediately.
After refreshing the front-end event listing, the Coming Soon button will be replaced with a Register button.
Fixing “Registration Closed”
If an event still shows Registration Closed even though it has not sold out, the Registration Status may be set to closed.
To reopen registration:
- Go to the Event Listing page.
- Find the event with the Registration Closed indicator.
- Click the event name to open the Event Details page.
- Stay on the Details tab.
- Scroll to the Registration section.
- Locate the Status field.
- Change the status to Open.
- Click Finish to save.
Once the status is set to Open, teams will be able to register again.
Quick Troubleshooting Checklist
If teams cannot register for an event, check the following:
✔ The Registration Start Date is not set in the future
✔ The Registration Status is set to Open
✔ The event has not reached its team capacity
